Vikings personnel chief Rick Spielman reiterated on Saturday that the team will give Brett Favre all the time he needs to decide if he will come back for a 20th season next year.
"I think you go ahead and let Brett decide what he wants to do," Spielman said, via the Minneapolis Star Tribune, echoing comments head coach Brad Childress made last month.
Favre said last week he hasn't decided on whether to play next season. But he added in a statement on his website, "I'm not getting any younger."
Spielman said the Vikings, whom Favre led to a 13-3 record and then an overtime loss in the NFC title game, definitely want the QB to return.
"I know the organization, from our ownership, from our coaches and I think from our fans out there, we'd love to have Brett Favre back for another year and see if we can make another run at this," he said |
