JACKSON, Miss. - In May, Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre will be practicing his swing and not his forward pass.

The 10th annual Brett Favre Celebrity Golf Tournament will be held May 13-15 at the Oasis Spa and Resort in Gulfport, said Beth Seymour, executive director of the Brett Favre Fourward Foundation.

Seymour said the $8,000-a-team event is sold out. Twenty-six teams of five, including one celebrity player, will tackle the Grand Bear golf course to raise money for the foundation.

Like past years, Seymour said Tim McGraw will be putting on a special concert the final evening of the tournament.

"Tim has offered us his talent and time," Seymour said.

Past golf tournaments have raised nearly $400,000 for disabled and disadvantaged children in Mississippi, Seymour said.

McGraw's wife, Faith Hill, performed on March 12 at the event, "A Night of Faith," which helped the foundation raise money for underinsured and uninsured breast cancer patients across the Gulf Coast.

Favre's wife, Deanna, was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

The night, including a celebrity auction, netted $400,000 for the charity.

The Brett Favre Fourward Foundation, started in 1996, has raised $1.3 million for charities in Mississippi and Wisconsin. Walker said that the Favres are establishing a million dollar endowment so their children always will have funds to donate to charitable organizations.
