In yet another sign that Brett Favre may return for a 20th NFL season with the Minnesota Vikings next season, the QB gave a revealing interview to Men's Journal magazine in which he indicated doing more damage to his body isn't a big worry.
Favre had surgery in May to repair his left ankle, the second straight year he's gone under the knife. The 40-year-old told Men's Journal he's made his peace with how his injuries will affect his body later in life:
"Playing another year probably isn't going to make a difference; the damage has already been done."
Favre said he had doubts about whether he was making the right decision when he joined the Vikings in mid-August last year and ended a retirement for the second straight year:
"I was driving into training camp and I'm saying, 'God, what was I thinking.' I thought, 'This is a mistake.' "
Favre, who has been working out with high school players in Mississippi, has said he's not sure if he wants to play in 2010. But he acknowledged to Men's Journal it's tough to cut the cord from the NFL:
"You'd think I'd know better by now. I've learned a lot through the years. What I haven't learned is what I'll do and when I'll do it."
