As Easter weekend nears its close, QB Donovan McNabb remains under contract with the Philadelphia Eagles even though it seems he's been linked to half the NFL's teams in recent weeks.
(Minneapolis) Star Tribune columnist Sid Hartman claims Minnesota is one place McNabb won't call home, writing: "You can rest assured there is no talk with the Eagles about a trade for quarterback Donovan McNabb. Anything you read or hear about that is not true."
Hartman also reports: "Vikings coach Brad Childress spent some time on the phone Thursday with quarterback Brett Favre, just keeping in touch with the great quarterback."
Favre has not stated whether he'll be returning for a 20th NFL season, though the Vikings likely have a better idea than sports media outlets or the public regarding No. 4's intentions. However if Favre does retire for the third time sine 2008, McNabb would seem a logical fit in purple and gold. Childress was the Eagles' offensive coordinator from 2002-2005, a stretch that included Philly's run to Super Bowl XXXIX after the 2004 season |
